23 Hour Observations

Just as no two drug addiction experiences are exactly the same, neither will any two people have identical experiences while completing a drug addiction treatment program.

At New Life Lodge, we are aware of the necessity of providing comprehensive drug addiction treatment services in a manner that can be adapted to meet the unique needs of each patient. Our drug addiction treatment services are customized at the time a patient enters treatment with us, and we continue to evaluate and adjust treatment options throughout a patient’s affiliation with our program.

In some cases, patients experience acute crises that require a particularly high level of intensive supervision and intervention services. For this reason, we have created a 23 Hour Observation Program, an innovative and effective service for patients who fit a particular drug addiction profile.

The 23 Hour Observation Program is designed for substance abuse emergencies and crisis situations, and (as the name of the program implies) is designed to be in effect for up to 23 hours. The program provides extended and extensive evaluation prior to entering detox, as well as crisis stabilization for covered persons who need an intermediate level of care.

Thought the 23 Hour Observation Program is an intensive and highly supervised program, it is not designed to be a highly restrictive or “lock-down” experience. Treatment interventions, under the supervision of a physician, are focused on mobilizing support and resources so that the covered person can be managed in the least restrictive setting.

A medical history and physical is conducted on all admissions into the 23 Hour Observation Program. Continued assessment by New Life Lodge’s skilled nursing staff determines the appropriated level of transition.

As part of New Life Lodge’s comprehensive spectrum of drug addiction treatment services, the 23 Hour Observation Program is consistent with our philosophy of meeting patients wherever they are on their addiction recovery journey, and providing them with the level of support that is necessary for them to take the steps they need in order to successfully pursue lifelong recovery.
